Work Weekend 2

May 13 - May 15 - Catoosa Event Center

wonderland work weekend 2 .jpeg

Welcome back to our 2nd official Work Weekend of 2022 at Catoosa!
We are picking up where we left off to finish as much of the previous projects in preparation for our upcoming burn.

We welcome you to camp starting Friday afternoon and will work Saturday between 10am - 6pm CST and Sunday between 10am -4pm CST (weather permitting of course).

If you arrive between working hours please don't interrupt the flow of the crew. We will have time for socializing after working hours. If arriving Friday evening, please do so before dark to allow time for setup.

If you plan on coming, please select "Going" so we have an idea of the number of helpers to plan for.

When turning on Turnberry Drive you'll see the warehouse/apartment on the right. Stay on this road and follow it for 3/4 of a mile. We will have a sign directing to the camping area on the left.

As always, we would love to host a communal potluck and bonfire Saturday evening and hope you'll bring a dish to share.
Same for Sunday breakfast

✨Welcome aboard, new Lunar Leaders✨

As we approach our 2022 lunar landing, we are happy to announce that we have selected an other-worldly crew to help launch us to the New Moon 2022

The last few years have brought much growth and transformation. With our superb new Cosmic Council and amazing Event Lead Team, we are unbelievably excited to share this experience with our fellow astronauts.

Brad, Bones, and Elaine will all be returning with the help of newly-elected members: Chance Loman, Julie Reach, and Eisa Nuri.

As we cross the horizon into this new frontier, we have set our intentions for 2022 to be THE BEST YEAR YET. So let's give a huge shoutout and welcome our new BOD members as they board the spaceship.

We’re all very excited to launch into orbit!

Fall 2018 News
A Message From Your BOD

Dear Lunartics,

We can’t believe it’s November!

Burning Man may be behind us but the energy is still very much with us...the expanse of the playa expanded our horizons, the sheer scope of the absolutely insane art, creativity and overwhelming beauty of it all now a memory that still resonates within us.

We were reminded of the reason for seeking and maintaining sanctioned status:
Burning Man inspires us - not only to curate a vessel for everyone to be able to add their piece of magic to the puzzle but also to uphold a certain level of professionalism, a standard by which we conduct ourselves. It is by this standard we aim to be as transparent as possible and trust you will trust our need for your BOD’s core leadership to work in complete unison as it is in this unison where we find our magic. It creates a level of ease from which we draw the energy needed to not only manage our growth but to also to tend to external challenges as they arise and create a more meaningful burn in the future.
Our core nucleus is at the heart of The Moon and bringing Dusty Lashes on board completes the fusion.

The change in our leadership structure enables us to be exactly where we aimed to be:

large enough to separate the BOD and Event Leads so we can all stop the wearing of too many hats - and while we have yet to define the roles in all of their detail, change spurred by growth comes with growing pains. The added BOD member took an appointed seat. Any elected member would be added to the BOD mid-term only with a public vote of a newly elected member. We are not in a position for seven BOD members yet and needed to remain at five.

Alongside the BOD, we have an incredible group of Event Leads who have shifted from previous roles last year into the core of the event itself! We would like to thank Willow, Cheesepants and Critter for their amazing contributions and dedication to this community from year 1. All the hard work and efforts from each one of you is recognized and celebrated as we continue to grow and expand. With this new leadership arrangement, we hope to open up more positions to new leaders in our Lunar Family and encourage anyone interested in getting involved to contact us with intent and ideas for improvement.

We appreciate all the hard work, talent and energy everyone adds To The Moon’s magic and we love you all for it! We also believe in every voice being heard, all feedback being considered and every question answered to the best of our ability but prefer another platform of communication besides social media in efforts to do so in a professional, mindful and respectful way.

By next year’s event, ByLaws will further outline our internal process and governance.

In the meantime, whether you would like to know a little bit more about the inner workings of your Board Of Directors as a whole or have specific questions, please shoot us an email: connect@tothemoonburn.com. and as always, continue to subscribe to our monthly newsletter!

We are also just a phone call away if you’d rather talk in person!

Much love to all of you,
Happy Holidays, Happy New and Full Moons

Until January <3

To The Moon 2018 Chestnut Ridge Fire Department Boot Drive & Online Fundraiser

Great news! Between the boot drive held at the event ($2661!!!) and the post

event online fund raiser we hosted for SFD ($1000) we, together as a community,

raised a grand total of: $3661.00!!

This money directly impacts and helps our host community as it allows their fire

department to buy needed equipment to better serve their citizens.  Hancock

County is one of the poorest counties in TN and the do not get any government

funding towards their emergency services. These fine folks volunteer their services

throughout the burn and monitor our structure fires closely to help ensure

everyone's safety. We are lucky to have them, and to have such a good relationship

with them.
Save some change for 2019 because we're definitely doing that again!

Thank you all!
