DPW

The "Department of Public Works" is the backbone of the burn and often behind the scenes. They build the city infrastructure, move things, provide electrical power management, signage, transporting materials, etc.

Gate

First to see participants as the enter the burn, first to welcome participants home, takes invites, id's, and waivers, and record emergency contact info. Gate will also direct parking. They will give out any burn related materials at the burn as well.

Greeters

Rangers

Rangers are the non-confrontational mediators of community and public safety and providers of information. While on shifts they will carry radios. They are super cool.

Khaki: Experienced Ranger running shift, also serves as khaki (dispatch/coordination). Email the Ranger Lead, Ben, to sign-up for these shifts.

Dirt Patrol: Experienced Ranger, paired with an alpha. For this first burn, both rangers may be inexperienced and if so, will receive on-shift mentoring from lead.

Alpha: Inexperienced ranger, paired with a "dirt" ranger. If no dirt ranger available, that's ok. New burn. We will mentor during shift.

MoonLighters 

These participants gather before dusk to ceremonially light the city with lanterns and gather them in the morning.

TBase (Sanctuary)

"TBase" (Tranquility Base) provides a retreat like space for those who may need to have some down time or someone to talk with. Team will assist participants with minor incidents with first aid, and they are the first responders for medical assessment should advanced medical be necessary.  No medical training is required. Please be alert and sober for your shift.

Volunteer Coordinator 

Coordinates team leads for volunteers needed pre-burn, burn, and post-burn: manages signup sheets, keeps volunteers informed of updates and roles during the burn will help enlists volunteers for slots that need filling, may host conference calls to team leads and volunteers pre-burn.

Conclave

These volunteers provide performance art of spinning fire props and engaging participants in a pre-burn ceremony.

Participants should meet at Effigy Burn field at 5pm Sat evening.

BurnDown

These participants meet up before burn time and establish a burn perimeter to aid in the safety of participants during the burn. Meet at burn field prior to clonclave (before dusk)

Fire Safety

This teams helps provide a safe environment for fire art, the effigy, and the temple. Look for Perimeter sign ups under Perimeter tab sign-up.

Dirt Patrol: Looks for fires out of place, and ensure that fire spinners are spinning safely.

Placement:

Placement is responsible for the layout of the burn's camps, roadways, infrastructure and in and out points.

LNT

LNT = Leave No Trace. This team is responsible for getting everyone involved in keeping the land beautiful before, during and after the event. Since a burn doesn't provide trashcans, the LNT team is essential in educating participants about cleaning up after themselves and others as they go along. 
The idea is to leave the land as we find it - or better!

Effigy 

Effigy team helps with building the Saturday central focus burn structure, and they can always use some muscle!

Temple Team 

Same as with effigy team, this crew gives you the closure experience on Sunday, so consider helping them building something that affects all participants in a very profound and meaningful way.
